Host families 22 students (19 girls & 3 boys)


  • Participants arrive late in the afternoon at Elegance hotel. Students will be picked up by their host families.
  • Dinner will be provided and paid by school
  • 8.30 a.m.: Coordinators’ meeting at the hotel. Topic: Programme review and details for the visit in Asenovgrad. Instructions about the creation of the online based book of the travellers. Comenius calendar for 2013 ready.
  • 9.30 a.m.: Visit of the “Holy Virgin Church” (teachers will take taxis from the hotel)
  • 10.00 a.m.: Welcoming party at school.
  • Taking part in rituals related to the 1st of March;
  • Coffee break in the staff room.
  • Students from the partnership will be acquainted with the Cyrillic alphabet.
  • 12.30 p.m.: Lunch at Vito restaurant for students and teachers paid by school.
  • 13.30 p.m.: Music and dance performances at the gym; students from the partnership will sing their folksongs and show their folkdances.
  • 16.00 p.m.: Visit the Town Hall and meeting the Mayor of Asenovgrad
  • Dinner at Vox restaurant for teachers and students paid by the municipality at 7.00 p.m.
  • 9.00 a.m.: Learning to make martenitsi at school with students from thew partnership.
  • An Art lesson at school
  • Visit the Paleonthological museum at 10.30 a.m.
  • Going to Plovdiv. Guided tour of the old town 11.30 a.m. – 1.30 p.m.
  • Lunch at Diana restaurant in Plovdiv
  • Visiting Asen’s fortress on the way back to Azenovgrad
  • In the evening party with teachers and students of the partnership at Stanimaka restaurant. Dinner will be paid by school.
  • Going to Shiroka Laka, a village up in the mountains, at 7.15 a.m. and taking part in Kukeri dances. It will take us around 1.30 h or 2h to get there.
  • Visit the museum in Shiroka laka
  • Traditional Bulgarian lunch in Shiroka laka – roast lamb
  • On our way back to Asenovgrad we’ll visit Pamporovo, a famous ski resort and Bachkovo monastery.
  • In the evening: Evaluation meeting at the hotel, Hungary picks up the hosting of the school partnership
  • Parents arrive with the students of the partnership at Elegance hotel at 9.30 a.m.
  • Goodbye and see you in Hungary
