What the Comenius-project means to me…

What the Comenius-project means to me…

For me the Comenius project means friends. I met so many really nice people. Before the project started I did not think that I would have so many friends from so many different countries. After the mobilities my new friends and I shared photos and videos about the mobility, wrote many E-Mails and were happy that we were allowed to attend such a beautiful project. I think for everybody it was really interesting to talk about the differences of our countries but also what is similar or the same. I was really nervous before the mobility to Austria started because my Hungarian host-sister came to my country! The time with her and her friend was beautiful. What I also learned...

Newsletter No 4

Just before our last mobility to Poland, Newsletter No 4 has been processed and edited by our project coordinator Emilia. There are some articles on previous mobilities to Sweden and Austria, but the main focus was on writing a resumee of the project – either by coordinators or teachers or by students. Emilia summed up the feelings of most project-participants: …” Words are not strong enough for us to express our gratitude to all the partners involved in the project. This project helped our children become genuine European citizens and it also, we believe, impacted Europe as a whole and contributed to turning it into a better place to live”...

Youth Groups in Austria

Youth Groups in Austria

Part of our task for the mobility to Sweden was the presentation of “Austrian lifestyle”, especially that of young people. The pupils researched a lot, at first they interviewed members of their familiy, looked at different lifestyles in different historical periods, compared lifestyles in cities to those in the countryside – and finally ended up with a detailed report on youth groups in Austria. Then we decided to dress up and present the youth groups most relevant for Austria, took pictures and had the pupils write statements on the groups. This time the teachers learned a lot from their pupils!

Christmas Card Project

In December an exchange of Christmas Cards between all partner countries took place. Class 3B worked on the cards in Arts-classes, where they did group work and could decide what had to be on the pictures of other groups. In the end the group works were combined again. The results: Best Christmas Cards ever …!

3rd Project Newsletter released

Newsletter No. 3 was issued in December 2013. The provided articles either described the last two mobilities – to Lisboa in June 2013 or to Latvia in September 2013 – or they dealt with the topic of the upcoming mobility to Sweden: “lifestyle”. As the Austrian team was right in the middle of preparing their “lifestyle – presentation”, our article focussed on Austrian youth culture. Newsletter No. 3

Mobility to Latvia

Day 1: At first we met at 9:20 am. at the airport. We went to our gate. We waited until the bus came and got into the bus. The bus took us to the plane: It was a propeller-driven-airplane!!! Then after a few minutes we started. We flew 3 hours, then we landed in Riga. We waited a few minutes at the airport for the Swedish delegation and then we went to the hotel by bus. After an hour we went down to eat. It was buffet-food and it was very tasty. Day 2: Our teachers woke us up at 6:30 am. Then we went down for having breakfast. It was really good. We checked out of the hotel and got into a school-bus from Dagdas Vidusskolan. By bus we went to the city center. There we had...

Facts of Latvia

In preparation for the mobility to Latvia, form 3 B collected interesting facts on Latvia and grouped them on a map of Latvia. Especially interesting for the pupils of 3 B was the fact that the first Christmas tree had been set up in Riga, that Latvia has miles of white, sandy beach where amber might be found and that Latvians love flowers. But they also got a feeling for the size of Latvia and population figures compared to Austria and were astonished that Latvia is rather flat with only one mountain of a height of 312 m.

Mobility to Portugal

The 1st day: On June 3rd, 2013 we all met at the airport at 12.30 am. We checked in and said goodbye to our parents. While waiting to get into the plane we drank a coffee and talked. The flight took 3 hours and was very comfortable. When we landed two Portuguese teachers welcomed us and brought us to the “teacher-hotel”. There we met other “comenius-kids” for the first time. Then they brought us to the school were a nice buffet was waiting for us. The children were very nice and hospitable. They tried to speak with us and showed us their school. Our host families were also there and after we had met the other children from the other countries, we...
